Four times that brewing changed the world

In a teaser to his next book, the Meaning of Beer, award-winning author and filmmaker Jonny Garrett gives four examples of how beer has changed the world throughout history, starting with how a 5,000-year-old brewery laid the foundations for the Great Pyramid, tracing the origins of the fridge in Spaten Brau’s cellars, telling the remarkable story of sour inspiring the concept of antisepsis, and reliving how Munich’s beer halls fuelled Hitler’s rise to power.
